The price of a British Airways long haul ticket will increase by £10 per passenger per flight from Thursday 16th December 2010. The rise, which represents an extra £20 per passenger, per return journey is caused by British Airways increasing its fuel surcharge on all long haul routes.
An official statement from British Airways says that “The move reflects the substantial recent increase in the price of oil” The carrier will not be increasing the fuel surcharge on short haul services.
Alihoco expects this to cause an increase in passenger numbers on Short Haul All Inclusive Holiday packages as a result of the negative feeling caused by what customers will see as yet another tax on travel.
