Thousands of Spanish air traffic controllers have phoned in sick in protest against long working hours and general working conditions. The Spanish Government has called in the army to manage the crisis but this will not prevent disruption to the flight schedules. The result is that there will be no flights departing or arriving into any Spanish Airports until at least 1am on the 5th December.
This is yet more bad news for UK holiday makers following airport closures caused by the snow and ice over the last few days. Passengers are advised to contact their airline or travel agent for more information.
