BAA, who sold Gatwick Airport following a 2009 decision of the Competition Commission (CC), has now been told that it must sell Stansted Airport and one of either Glasgow or Edinburgh Airports.
The decision is still provisional and the CC is requesting comment and responses before finalising its decision, probably in June of this year.
BAA who also own Heathrow, Southampton and Aberdeen say on their website: "We will carefully consider the Competition Commission's provisional decision before making any decisions or further statements. We believe that there has been a material change in circumstances since the Commission's report was published in March 2009".
