Tulum on the Yucatan Peninsular in Mexice is not only the perfect location for a tranquil and relaxing holiday with its warm, temperate climate and beautiful beaches, it is also an excellent location to explore the ancient Mayan history.
The Mayans date back to the period 100-200AD and they were an industrious and culturally advanced civilisation who devoted a large proportion of their time to constructing huge ceremonial buildings.
The archeological area around Tulum is amazingly well preserved making it one of the best locations to study the Mayan culture. It's no surprise that it's such a popular destination for tourists from all over the world.
