The latest Boeing airplane, the new 747-8 Intercontinental was shown to over 10,000 people at its debut in Everett, Washington on Sunday.
At 76m long and with a wingspan of 68.5m the 747-8 Intercontinental is the largest passenger aircraft that Boeing have ever produced. It can seat 467 passengers in a 3-class configuration and achieves 16% better fuel economy, 16% less carbon emissions and a 30% smaller noise footprint than its predecessor.
The 747-8 Intercontinental is now scheduled for a series of thorough tests prior to its maiden flight that is planned for early spring.
