British Airways and American Airlines have announced plans to operate a joint service every hour from London Heathrow to JFK every hour between 1pm and 8pm.
The route is both airlines busiest service and the new proposals have allowed the airlines to co-operate on schedules and pricing whilst driving down costs in their most lucarative markets of first and business class seats.
The recent formation of International Airlines Group which includes BA, AA and Iberian Airlines will result in the first service by Iberia from Madrid to Los Angeles which will operate three times a week.
