Holiday Companies blamed for rise in school truancy!

The amount of children being taken out of school during term time for their family holiday has doubled over the past two years. The economic situation has left families choosing the cheaper option of off-peak holidays which is leading to 40,000 truancies from school per day.
Holiday companies tend to double their prices during the school holiday season, leaving parents in a dilemma; save hundreds of pounds on a holiday or risk a truancy fine of £50 from the local council.
Should holiday companies be allowed to increase the price so much during the school holiday season?
