Yesterday's budget from George Osborne saw him attempt to help all industries.
The announcement will not cause celebration from British holiday makers but the relatively good news is that Air Passenger Duty has been frozen until the 2012 budget and an escalator to track the inflation rate on airline tax has been deferred until April 2012.
Passengers currently pay as much as £170 in Air Passenger Duty but the Government is looking at reforming the system to impose duty on aircraft not passengers. Alihoco will believe that when we see it!
The budget did not pose such good news to those who prefer to use private jets as the government is to announce a 'Learjet Levy' to increase tax on this after an exemption was removed.
