Up to 40% of UK's biggest companies failing on carbon emissions law

A study by the Carbon Trust has found that nearly half of the UK's top companies do not have targets on greenhouse gas emissions. Forty of the FTSE 100 are guilty of either laking numerical targets on carbon dioxide or their targets have now expired without being renewed.

The majority of targets set by the FTSE 100 companies have set for themselves are with goals for 2011 and 2013 with around one-fifth relating to goals in 2018 or later.
